Though we are back in Crested Butte, CO for 2 weeks enjoying the good company of my friend Sandy Sandy, and photographing the wildflowers, I wanted to add a couple photos of the National Mariner races held at the Surf City Yacht Club just before we left. Our friend Newt Wattis asked me to photograph the racers and their boats as a gift to the participants. Newt turned out being the winner of the series, for not the first time. He is quite a sailer!
Some of the boat lines up at the start.
Newt approaching the mark with a substantial lead.
The Winner!! Sailing in a stiff breeze.

THE END OF OUR TRIP TO THE GREEK ISLANDS
Vegetables in market near the port of Syros.
The street by the port is lined with restaurants with colorful tables.
These children race their Opties in the port of Syros under difficult conditions.
Kithnos from the water is a pretty picture.
This beautiful sunset at the home port in Athens ended our trip.

PAROS, IN THE CYCLADES ISLANDS, GREECE
This beautiful church is on the top of the hill.
The graveyard behind the church had many tombstones for Greek fishermen, with memorbilia from their life encased in glass.
The alleys in town are paved with these stones, as is this flowered pathway to a private home.
And of course there are always cute Greek cats to photograph.

MORE PICTURES FROM THE GREEK ISLES
We explored these beautiful caves of the SW corner of Milos in a small inflatable boat.
A grouchy Greek fisherman who didn't want his photo taken.
A younger, pleasant Greek fisherman mending his nets.
