When we arrived back in Colorado the wildflowers were in full bloom.
This view from just behind our driveway shows the top of Mt Crested Butte in the distance and some of the ski runs in the summer.
The surrounding mountains have lost most of their snow.
This is was a wonderful time to be in Crested Butte. The Wildflower Festival was just over, the Music Festival in full swing, and the Wine Festival about to begin. In addition there was music in Mountaineers' Square at our favorite restaurant, and Wednesday night concerts at the base of the mountain.
"The Elder" a wonderful Irish group was the best we have ever heard.
Almost as much fun as the music is watching the children dancing spontaneously to the beat.

JULY 4th IN SURF CITY
that July is almost over, and I am back on my computer in Colorado, I am posting a few photos from early this month.
Our neighborhood July 4th festivities in Surf City are a 40+ year tradition. All ages participate in the parade around the block.
Following the parada all gather on the beach for games for the children and some of the adults.
The finale is always a pie eating contest - this year a chocolate cream pie, enjoyed by all.
